This winter season has to be one of the best yet when it comes to fashion. I have never embodied so many new silhouettes that I feel comfortable wearing, until now. I decided to share 5 Winter Wardrobe Staples that any “style jukie” should keep in their closet. Do you have any favorite trends this winter? Leave a comment below.
1. Trench Coat
Finding a solid trench coat for men can be pretty tricky. I personally love minimal coats that are on the longer side. A trench can add that sophisticated edge to any outfit, whether you are sporting pajamas or formal attire. Lately, my love for chucking on a trench before running out the door has been immense. Stick with a neutral color such as black or grey that can pair with a majority of your pieces.
2. Rollneck Sweater
Until this winter, I would have never put on a rollneck or “turtle neck” sweater. Lately, my love for this trend has been unreal. A rollneck is such an incredible layering piece that comes in so many different weights and colors. I personally bought a thick knit as a standalone piece and a lighter weight rollneck to layer with other pieces. This type of sweater is such a universal piece that keeps you both stylish and warm.
3. Simple Scarf
I feel that 2016 will be the year of the scarf! Last winter, I didn’t even laid my hands on my scarf drawer. I honestly think it is so bizarre how trends change and we hate what we bought a few months back (Who’s with me?). Minimal wool scarves are making there way around the industry at the moment, focusing on both neutral and accent colors. I think a light grey or black would be perfect to keep warm with these next few months. If you’re a colorful person, a camel or powder blue would be the perfect pop.
4. Leather Jacket
My leather jacket(s) is my go to when the weather outside is a bit chilly or I want to add some edge to any outfit. There is something about a soft leather jacket that gets me goin… Of course the end goal is an All Saints lambskin piece however I currently own an incredible Asos moto jacket and Topman matte piece.
5. Ankle Boot
Last but not least, one of my favorite staple shoes of all time, the ankle boot. I have a pair from H&M that are some of the nicest fitting and look shoes that I own (Keep in mind they were only $49!). When it comes to chelsea boots, I tend to go for a minimal pair with a tighter fit. Lace up ankle boots are also a favorite of mine and add edge to any look. Need some height? Look for a pair with a small heel or platform on the bottom such as a pair of Dr. Martens.
