Fall is absolutely my favorite time of year to shop for clothing and shoes because as many of you know, I’m a layering whore. Los Angeles probably wasn’t the most ideal climate when it came to choosing where I wanted to move but come on, it’s LA! The weather is starting to slowly decrease and I can happily say that I wore my first sweater today. I wore that sweater with a pair of boots which is of course one of my five staple shoes you need this fall! Now let’s get into the 5 staple fall shoes you need in your wardrobe for fall 2016!
My obsession for this pair of boots is unreal. If you have been following me on Instagram or YouTube for some time, you would know just how much wear I get from these boots. The harness detail adds the perfect amount of interest without making the boots overwhelming. Black leather or brown suede would be a perfect option and you can find a few pairs ranging in price linked here:
Suede reminds me so much of fall and I think it has to do with the traditional earthy tones that suede is typically presented in. This year we will be seeing a lot of suede from shoes to accessories and into larger pieces like jackets. Mixing this brushed fabric with a classic silhouette such as the Chelsea boot is a great way to introduce a touch of fall into your transitioning wardrobe.
I personally find this trend to stay in my closet year round as chunky sole shoes add height and a sense of confidence to my outfits that are styled around them. This particular pair from H&M is unique in the sense that the sole is purple and has cut outs creating a jagged zig zag shape. Pairing these shoes in a dressy way or extremely casual way is so easy and effortless thus making them an essential fall staple.
Every season we will see sneakers and there is no doubt about that. Gucci set off a craze for the statement sneaker this fall/winter season and I find this trend to be so much fun. If you are a minimalist or tend to wear only a few shades throughout your wardrobe, a statement sneaker is the perfect addition of color + flare. Linked are a few of my current favorite statement sneakers I have found on the interweb:
We can’t forget about the loafer. WOW! Loafers are major this fall season and to be 100% honest, I have never liked loafers until now. For the longest time the comparison of loafers and regal/rich/snobby people was made in my head (It had to have been Scott Disick and his “LORD” embroidered loafers…). Gucci once again raised the standard and popularized the silhouette this season which I personally love because they are extremely classy yet so easy to throw on and go.
