I hope you are all having an amazing Sunday so far! If you didn’t know, Sunday is actually my new favorite day of the week. About a month ago, I really despised Sunday’s because I’ve always had school on Monday. Now that I have graduated, Sunday’s are my day of rest and personal time. I decided to wake up early this morning and write a post focusing on a few of my favorite fall trends you may want to give a go this season. Fall is one of my top favorite seasons and I really can’t believe we are already 9 days into October. Winter is pretty cool too, I guess!
01. Varisty Jackets
While in High School, I always fantasized about owning my own varsity jacket. I didn’t want this jacket to show my rank within sports, I really wanted this jacket because of preppy/edgy vibe it portrays. Lucky for me, 2016/2017 is the year for the varsity jacket and I am ready to style this piece for the colder days in Los Angeles. Another great element about a varsity jacket is the customization-able aspect and mixed materials (wool + leather, etc.).
02. Checks & Plaid
Plaid for Fall… Groundbreaking. But really, Plaid is such a staple for the fall season and I am so excited that boxy check patterns and traditional plaids are back. Lately, I have been wanting a pair of crazy plaid trousers but have yet to find the perfect pair. I also feel that plaid is an easy way to add color to your wardrobe if you are a minimalist as tiny pops can be found woven throughout the fabric.
03. Neck Ties & Scarves
As many of us know, 70’s vibes have been strong in the style game lately. A huge fall trend that I’ve seen on the runway and have been rocking through this transition period has been neck ties and skinny scarves. This accessory is extremely easy to add a pop of color, pattern or added dimension to any outfit. Styling silk squares like a bandana or tying scarves onto your wrist, the possibilities are endless.
04. Recreated Denim
The fabric of our lives. Denim has always been an extreme love of mine and this year it will take an immense role in my fall wardrobe. Personalized denim is one of my favorite trends from the runway with customization ranging from patches, distressing and dying. We will now see denim in every type of silhouette including traditional “tee shirt” shapes and making its way into accessories too. Triple denim is perfect for a day when you have nothing to wear!
If you’ve been following my blog for some time, you would know that I purchased silver chrome Acne sneakers a while back. I am so ready to break those out this fall season and add some reflection to my ensembles. Chrome is definitely a statement textile so feel free to add a touch here and there or throw on a space suit for the full effect.
