Dressing it Down

I’m having my moment with subtle color as many of you know and really wanted to create a look that was tailored but also really cool and casual. Express was my go to store when I thought of crisp spring wardrobe pieces and I opted for this pair of muted blue cotton trousers and a fitted dobby short sleeve shirt. During the spring time, I love keeping my outfits on the lighter side in terms of weight and color. I’m also not a very dressy person so I toned down the trouser and button down look with a simple shoe lace belt and a pair of chunky mules, however, if you want to wear this look to work or a more formal occasion, just finish it with a simple brown belt! Back on the dressed down note, think about pairing casual sneakers to really play down the vibe if that’s what you are in to (like myself!). The juxtaposition between casual and sophisticated has always been my go to dress code when I shop / style myself on a daily basis. What would you consider your dress code to be based around? I’d love to know!
