The Perfect Summer Top

Summer is one of the hardest season when it comes to styling in my opinion. Layers on layers have always been my favorite but that isn’t always the best idea when its 103 degrees when you step out the door. One of my go-to summer looks is always a flowy button down with an interesting pattern or cut. I love how light weight and breathable they are but also how much you can style them down or up to complete a look. This particular top is from Russell Simmons collection with JCPenney and I am 200% obsessed with the cut, pattern and color. This top honestly reminds me a lot of some shirts I have purchased at MUCH higher price points that don’t even look as good as this one. I styled it with a simple pair of cropped black denim with white socks. I love adding socks to my summer looks as it adds a bit more interest without the additional warmth. Lastly, a chunky pair of shoes finish off the look.

Make sure to check out the entire collection designed by Russel Simmons (also the Argyle Life Blog for looks of the week + style tips!) as the pieces are at an amazing price point and the quality is really great! You won’t be disappointed!

It’s much easier styling for the summer here in the UK – But even still it’s always a challenge when I go away. Another great post! I am in love with your photography, all your photos are so beautifully shot. Have a lovely week. Jord @
