Summer Skincare Regimen

1K4A9844Here on the blog, I have had numerous comments or questions about my skin. I did a video a while back on my Skincare Regimen, however I decided to go more in-depth here on the blog including my favorite necessities for the summer season. To be 100% honest, I was never really into skincare after I went on Accutane and my skin cleared. I used a simple face wash for the past 3-4 years and it’s now hitting me that skincare is important. I know that summer is almost coming to an end, however many of these products will be rolled into my Fall Skincare regimen. Below are the products that I have been using and loving!

For the longest time, I used the generic Cetaphil facial wash from the drugstore. I will always too this day swear by that product. If you have acne prone skin and you are on a budget, check out the Cetaphil Mild Skin Wash. I decided to take it one step further and “splurge” (it’s only $17!) on this Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in Mild. After about two weeks of using this product, my skin feels incredible. This wash does the perfect job of cleaning but not over cleansing.

This mask from Aesop is one of my all time favorite masks. This mask has a clay base and it starts to harden after about 10 minutes of being on your skin. I find the hardening process to be extremely satisfying. Another favorite aspect of this mask is the smell. It is very “herby” and pretty identical to parsley which is nice and calming! So many of my friends have purchased this mask after using it once as it leaves your skin extremely toned and firm.

About two months ago I was in Lush attempting not to spend any money. That of course failed and I ended up picking out this lip scrub. Two months have passed and I have gone through a total of 2 pots. When I tell you this scrub tastes like heaven, just believe me. I personally love using this every morning that I remember to use it. The aggravation from the sugar scrub on your lips leaves them plumped and naturally darkened. My lips are very light and semi-small so this is a plus to the removal of dead skin!

My friend Hannah got me hooked on this moisturizer. Oily moisturizer’s or ones that sit on your skin and don’t soak in are definitely on my “list of awfulness”. This product is the opposite and soaks into your skin in seconds, leaving it hydrated and plump. The consistency is almost gel like and glides onto the skin evenly and disappears in 30 seconds top. No more greasy pillow cases!

You should try the Keihl’s skin care products! Most of them are made with 90% natural ingredients and it’s a animal cruelty free brand. I really like them, and their anti acne products helped me fight with it and at the moment my skin is acne free! Hope you find something that you like.

I really love Kiehl’s skincare! I use to have a skin essence from then but then I left it in a hotel a while back and have yet to repurchase! I am going to head to Kiehl’s and see if any toners suit my skin! Thanks so much for the comment.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll have to try that Cetaphil Skin Wash. As for lip scrubs I try to use a homemade coconut oil and sugar scrub although I’m sure it doesn’t smell quit as good as the mint julep scrub.
