“Sitting together around the idea of pleasure”
Living in Downtown Los Angeles for a little over a year now you would think I have already hit up all the local joints. However, I have been pretty boring and sticking to Chipotle, Starbucks and the local grocery store. Instead of walking to Starbucks, Chipotle and the local grocery store, I told myself to start adventuring more. I want to incorporate more diversity when it comes to choosing a place to eat. Eating out is probably my absolute favorite activity (Who doesn’t love it?). Let’s start with Le Pain Quotidien.
– LOCATION & AESTHETIC –
Le Pain Quotidien is located on 6th and Hope next to a newly opened Tender Greens and a small organic cafe. My friend Alex and I were shooting a look for an upcoming project as we stumbled upon this gem. I looked inside and it instantly brought me back to a feeling I had in elementary school. Walking in from a cold winter break, the classroom full of warmth with the aroma of chocolate or a fall scent. I have no idea why this feeling arose but the inside was just incredible. If I had to use one word to describe the atmosphere, it would be “Comfort”.
– THE MENU –
Of course I got some iced coffee with a side of milk. I just love watching my room mate attempt to sip my almost black iced coffee. She cannot stand coffee but I’m pretty sure she is attempting to obtain a taste for it. We also got a croissant with butter and jam. I found this experience to be unlike the others. You actually order at the front where you would think to pick up your coffee and pastry. However, they are actually delivered to your industrial cement table. I enjoyed this take on a coffee shop as I have never experienced anything like it.
I also came to realize that they also serve breakfast and lunch. As in meals… How cool is that! You can view the full menu here.
I would love to hear your feedback on these posts? I do plan on photographing a bit more on my next LA adventure. Let’s see what comes next!
