My First Paris Fashion Week

My first time in Paris was absolutely incredible. One of my major dreams in life was to visit Paris and I can finally say that I did + I got to attend couture fashion week… WHAT IN THE WORLD! Not many of you know this, but I actually for style blogger Chriselle Lim as her photographer. One of the major perks (not to mention the entire job is already a perk) is getting the opportunity to travel with the team. Here is a mini recap of my time in Paris. If you are more of a video/visual person (like myself!), take a peek at my Paris fashion week vlog from my YouTube Channel.

The first show of the season was directly after we landed at an incredible indoor location! Color was definitely present in the collection which added a lot of visual interest, not to mention the patterns and textures they also incorporated. This was my first show that also showed men’s clothing which of course I had major interest in. Take a look at the entire show here.

Landing in Paris, I wasn’t expecting it to be as cold as it actually was. I wore a simple sweatshirt and joggers on the plane and froze a bit getting off. The temperature was about 25 degrees and I knew my first outfit needed to keep me warm + stylish. This look featured my new Acne Studios coat with the prettiest fur collar. The coat is oversized which gave an effortless casual vibe. Let’s also not forget the coat was 60% off!! Moreover, the look was totally monochrome with these Off-white inspired jeans from Zara and my coveted Saint Laurent boots.

Miu Miu is one of my favorite brands to see in magazines / styled on the streets. I love the quirky element that Miu Miu adds to their design thus this collection checked all my boxes. Mannequins were used to showcase the clothes and this was presented in form of a presentation which great due to the amount of detail each piece had. Loving the sporty/granny chic vibe portrayed (lol).

Next we attended the Woolmark Prize show which Chriselle had the honor of wearing the winning look on the following day (check that photo out here). Essentially there were designers in competition to win a prize for their designs that included wool. I personally thought every design was incredible, especially knowing wool was the main fiber used in each outfit.

THE VALENTINO SHOWROOM (need I say more…)

All I can say is WOW! This show was 100% my favorite from this couture week. Margiela will always have a place in my heart (not to mention the current designer is Galliano, who is truly iconic when it comes to design). The collection consisted of many textures, black, red + white, faces, volume and unique hair + makeup. Watch the entire show here (it’s a must).

The Elie Saab show by far was the most romantic and enchanting show of the season. This collection was truly couture and the craftsmanship was insane. Each garment was hand beaded with crystals that really stood out on the runway. The color palette was also very me and encompassed many muted and natural tones with touches of unstaured colors ranging from blue to pink.

    You .. lucky … dog.
If I had to pick 2 shows to go to Elie Saab and Margiela all the way. Galliano is still steering the ship at Margiela right?
Fabulous post — thank you! 🙂
